Classical Philosophy in Greece

Every summer since 2010 (with a 2-year interruption during the Covid-19 pandemic), we have held workshops in Greece bringing together faculty and graduate students from Princeton and various Greek institutions. We follow a reading group format that has evolved over the years: we discuss an extended text by breaking it down into sections of 5-15 lines, with teams of two or three presenters first proposing a draft translation that the group then tweaks, and after that we have a discussion about interpretive questions led by the team of presenters.

Our annual workshops in Greece take place with the generous support of the Seeger Center for Hellenic Studies. More information about the history of these annual workshops is available here.
